What is ProLight LED Photo-Rejuvenation?
LED, Light Emitting Diode, Light Therapy, also known as phototherapy or photo-rejuvenation, sprang to prominence when NASA conducted clinical studies to show that LED Light Therapy improved wound healing and tissue growth in space. Since then there has been numerous research and scientific studies that have proven that light energy delivered in specific wavelengths, at the right intensity, can restore the skin to a healthier state by stimulating and strengthening the structures of the skin.
What can I expect from a ProLight Photo-facial treatment?
Depending on your skin type and concerns, you will customise your rejuvenation treatment by matching the appropriate wavelengths to target your skin concerns for maximum improvement. ProLight Photo-therapy Skin Rejuvenation treatments utilise either red, infrared, blue, green and amber wavelength frequencies or a combination of various wavelengths to increase collagen, elastin, fibroblast production, increase skin firmness, reduce pores size, improve skin texture and tone, treat mild to moderate acne, improve the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, speed healing, improve sun-damage, and give an over-all vibrant, healthier-looking skin.
Can LED Light Therapy be used on all skin types?
LED Light Therapy is safe and effective for all skin types, ethnicities, and age groups. These treatments have no undesirable side effects and no downtime. ProLight Light Therapy is not laser, therefore there is no risk of burning or scarring the skin. Even the most sensitive/red skin types can experience the benefits of light therapy.

How safe are LED Light Therapy treatments?
Light Therapy has been used world-wide for many years by physicians, health care providers, hospitals, and aesthetic professionals. The FDA approved technology has been confirmed to be a very safe, effective, painless, scientific based light treatment. ProLight LED Light Therapy does not use UVA damaging rays. The specific wavelengths used in treatment repair the cellular damage caused by the sun’s UVA and UVB rays.
How is LED Light therapy different from Laser treatments?
LED Light therapy is non-ablative and non-abrasive, which means it will not cut, burn, or scar the skin surface as with Laser treatments. Lasers use an intense heat and light to destroy, called ‘selective photo-thermolysis’. This wounding effect stimulates a healing response. ProLight LED Light Therapy produces no burning or destruction of skin tissue, and thus, no swelling or redness. ProLight is a totally natural and non-invasive method of skin rejuvenation. The visible improvements of the skin is gradual and gentle and occur naturally over a few weeks at the cellular level, re-building the skin from the inside out, so there is no down-time for healing after treatment. The regular use of ProLight Phototherapy is much less than surgery, injections or lasers, and the results are impressive.
How many treatments are needed to see results?
Every skin is unique, just like a thumb print.
Depending on age, skin condition, previous sun exposure, lifestyle and health visible changes that occur with ProLight Photo-facial treatments are cumulative and optimal results come from regular treatments scheduled in a series. Upon completion of these relaxing treatments, the skin continues to improve over the next 8-12 weeks. As with any skin care treatment, maintenance is highly recommended to ensure lasting results. On average a maintenance treatment is suggested every four to six weeks.

How does ProLight Light Therapy work?
ProLight Phototherapy works by light interacting with chromophores-chemical groups in the skin that absorb light on a specific wavelength. The light interacts with the targeted chromophore and stimulates intercellular communication, resulting in skin rejuvenation. ProLight Phototherapy devices can be used to address sagging, wrinkles, dullness, sun spots, very fine telangiectasias(facial blood vessels) and acne.
Just as plants use chlorophyll to covert sunlight into cellular energy, specific wavelengths of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) activate cell receptors within the skin’s tissues producing many therapeutic effects in the skin and body. The concentrated light stimulates the cells to generate new skin cells and new collagen.
Studies confirm that the same LED energy can be used to inhibit collagen formation, which can be helpful in the treatment of acne scars, reducing bacteria, redness and inflammation associated with acne.
The ProLight patent-pending Polychromatic Wavelength Technology allows clients to receive the most effective wavelengths of light as the source for stimulating the natural healing process of the skin.
ProLight Aesthetics International, a USA manufacturer and leader in Phototherapy has developed a revolutionary, NASA researched, state of the art technology device, the ProLight Super Luminous LED Illuminator. This utilises non-laser, light-emitting diodes (LEDs) operating at specially calibrated parameters and combines the power of Polychromatic Wavelengths that have been shown through the years of research to successfully restore the skin to a healthier state, non-invasively and with no downtime or irritation.
